How to Use the Guides

Posted by Dan on December 17, 2009

Each guide is divided into several sections, each of which contains detailed information about various aspects of the cruising experience for that particular area. At the upper right of each section is a table of contents for the guide which you can use to navigate quickly to an area of particular interest, or you can read to the bottom of each section and click the link there to proceed to the next section (or back to the previous section, if you prefer). At the bottom of many sections, you will find a thumbnail gallery of pictures. Clicking on each thumbnail will open a new page showing the picture in full size along with additional information about the photo.

We want our guides to be as accurate and comprehensive as possible, so every appropriate facility we can find is listed in the guide. Where practical, we have included hyperlinks to the appropriate web site for each attraction and facility. As you read through the guide, simply click the hyperlink to any organization you have an interest in learning more about to open a window to their individual web site.

Since local conditions can change between yearly updates, it is always wise to contact any facility you wish to visit prior to your trip to avoid surprises. When you call or email, please don't forget to mention that you heard about them on sailorguides.com so that they will continue to support us and help to keep the information in the guides up to date.

Disclaimer:
We personally visit every location featured in the guide and sail the waters for as long as it takes to get a feeling for the individual personality of each boating area. Our guide represents the most detailed information we can obtain during a vacation-length stay in the area. To the best of our knowledge, the information contained in the guide is accurate at the time of publication, but is by no means meant to be all-encompassing. Always use your own best judgment and seek current local knowledge when boating in unfamiliar waters.
